Standing Rules may be changed at any time, following a recommendation by the Board of Directors and approval by the General Membership.

- The coordinator of the Manatee Village Historical Park shall be an ex-officio member of the Manatee County Historical Society during their tenure of office with all rights and privileges thereof.
- Corresponding and Social Secretaries and the Yearbook chairman will be appointed by sitting President, and may serve as long as reappointed.
Required signatures on Society financial accounts shall be any one of the following: The President, Secretary or Treasurer.
The cost of meals for guest speakers, and one accompanying person, shall be covered by the Society.
Officers and committee chairmen shall turn over to their successor, in a timely manner, records and all official articles of the office or committee.1
Members whose annual dues have not been received by March 15th shall be notified of such in writing by the Treasurer.
The Society shall Continue its membership in Florida Historical Society, Manatee Heritage Association, Manatee County History Fair, and any others selected by the board. Plus a stated sum to Manatee County Historical Commission to assist History Fair winners in attending State and National competitions.
The amount of annual dues for Individual Membership, Individual Sponsor Membership, Group Sponsor Membership, and Perpetual Membership shall be determined by the Board of Directors.
1Upon Written resignation prior to completion of their term, any Society materials in their possession shall be turned over to the President.
